NALA AND JAGER STORY

On April 2022, I entrusted my cherished German Shepherds, Jäger and Nala, to the care of a seemingly reputable pet sitter found through Rover.com. The pet sitter came highly recommended with glowing reviews on the platform. After conducting an interview, it was evident that my dogs enjoyed her company. She provided day services for our dogs on multiple occasions.

Jäger, Nala, my significant other, and I shared a strong family bond, and our lives were content and harmonious. At the time, my significant other and I were in the process of selling my home and finding a new residence for our family. We needed to board my dogs with the pet sitter during our house inspection, photography sessions, and viewings by interested parties, which were all completed within a week.

Tragically, on the last day of Nala and Jäger being boarded, they succumbed to extreme exhaustion and dehydration under the care of the pet sitter. This heartbreaking incident has left me with an enduring sense of guilt, compounded by the fact that there will never be any legal recourse for my dogs due to insufficient evidence. It is important to note that my dogs heroically saved 15 other dogs that were under the pet sitter's care at the same time.

I carry this burden daily, but I also recognize the importance of sharing my dogs' story, as well as others. I hope that my experience can serve as a catalyst for advocating against animal abuse, supporting those who have lost their beloved pets, and raising awareness among the public. I aim to use this platform to share the stories of others who have faced similar challenges.
